North Battleford Golf & CC
One of the best Public Golf Courses in Saskatchewan
Score Golf Magazine has named the North Battleford Golf and Country Club one of the best public golf courses to play in all of Saskatchewan. Once you visit this scenic and challenging golf course you will no doubt agree with their assessment. The course, which first opened for play in 1969 has been a symbol of great Saskatchewan golf ever since.
The North Battleford Golf and Country Club is perched on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. The golfer has to really work on keeping their head down during their round as the views of the river valley are so spectacular.
The par-72 golf course, which stretches to 6,600 yards from the tips, will challenge golfers of all skill levels. The manicured fairways and greens with 3 tee boxes on every hole make the course playable for all. You must be patient while playing the North Battleford Golf and Country Club as there are many challenges including the silky-smooth greens with many hidden breaks on them. You can score well on this course but it requires all of your concentration.
Dana Johnson is the General Manager of the North Battleford Golf and Country Club and he explains that the signature hole on his course is a “risk and reward” golf hole where you can score well on it one day and not so good the next
“My signature hole is #13 the Par 5. We see some players either get through that hole with a par, but many players make a bogey or even worse and changes their whole score that day. The tee shot is very challenging with a small landing area with any club in your bag off the tee, your second shot is to lay up or go for it in two. If you choose to lay up, you must try to avoid the left hand fairway bunker 100 yards from the green, and also in this area the fairway is very challenging with so many uneven lies. For the player that goes for the green in two shots, this can be very rewarding or if you miss the green left or right you will be lucky to make a bogey. Finally, the green is also very challenging with no easy pin placement for an easy putt.”
Be sure to visit the well-stocked pro shop where they have all your golfing needs whether it is a cart or clubs to rent, golf balls and equipment to buy. There are PGA of Canada – Saskatchewan Zone Professionals on staff to help you out if you need lessons and a driving range to help you iron out your game.
In the Restaurant & Lounge you are going to be treated to a delicious meal or snack. Whether you are there for golf or food, a nice evening meal or a catered event, you are sure to leave satisfied and full.
The North Battleford Golf and Country will host your event and the friendly staff at the course will see to it that your every need is taken care of. Their experience in making your experience comes from doing things right from the first day the course opened.
